Parasite Dolls Anime Review | Spoilers Free

I'm a big psychological anime fan at first and a cyberpunk fanatic at second. So when someone asked me about Parasite Dolls, I was surprised I didn't know about it.
What shocked me the most was that it takes place in the Bubblegum Crisis universe, which I'm familiar with. Fear not! You don't have to watch it to enjoy Paradise Dolls.

One of the perks of having an anime page is that you get to find little gems from time to time & what kind of friend would I be if I didn't decide to ramble about them in my blog.

Now, to the anime...

Paradise Dolls is an action and sci-fi OVA with only 3 episodes of around 25 minutes each. It falls within the cyberpunk sub-genre.
It follows Branch, a secret unit of police that tries to solve the mystery behind Boomers going bonkers. Boomers are humanoid robots.
Now, there are some pretty big names working on this. I was incredibly eager to later be a bit disappointed (just a bit).

One of the major issues I found is that there wasn't enough time to elaborate on such an intricate narrative.
It also falls into the most common tropes usually explored in anime of the same fabrication, but it's still enjoyable.

What caught my eye was the violence & gore so characteristic of this sub-genre. The differentiative retro animation of the 90s' was a mere bonus, so I sat through all 3 episodes effortlessly.

It's a something I would most definetly recommend to any cyberpunk fan.

My personal rating: 6.8/10

Take care & I'll see you on the next one.
